You may only purchase extra seats for the Welcome Meeting and the Local Reception. The packet you receive at the meeting registration desk will have the amount of tickets that you purchased.

If you have already registered and want to purchase tickets, please login to your LSA account, then go to Dues and Donations, and scroll down to the bottom to select the session you want, and then follow the instructions.

Some events do not require a ticket, but do require session registration when registering for the meeting.

Monday, June 19 Pre-Conference Research Workshop on Global and Comparative Socio-Legal Studies and Methods - this event is full

All are welcome to this one-day workshop on June 19, the day before the conference begins, at the Hotel Sheraton Maria Isabel. The aim is to review empirical approaches to law for those looking to master new methodologies and to assist scholars at all levels interested in taking a more comparative or international approach in their work. The workshop will feature plenary lectures, informal discussions, and break-out sessions led by distinguished international scholars. Co-sponsored by CIDE (Mexico City) and LLILAS Benson Latin American Studies and Collections (UT Austin). Limited to the first 60 participants who register.

Wednesday, June 21 Labor Tour at the National Museum of the Revolution

Bus transportation and English-language tour guide will be provided.

Please join us for a Labor Tour at the National Museum of the Revolution in Mexico City on June 21st, 2017 from 10am to 12:30pm. The tour will be conducted in English by a museum employee, and the group may be accompanied by a local historian to supplement the tour.

Founded in 1986, the museum is located under the Monument to the Revolution and Plaza de la República. The permanent exhibition presents the history of the Mexican Revolution organized into eight thematic-chronologic units, ranging from the time of the Reform to the end of the presidential period of Lázaro Cárdenas, and is narrated through multiple historical objects and documents selected from the museum collection, complemented by ample graphical information, videos and interactive modules.

The bus will leave the Sheraton hotel for the Museum promptly at 10am, and will pick up participants to return to the hotel no later than 12:30 pm.

Price: $20 (pre-paid with registration), plus museum entrance fee of 29 Mexican pesos (approx. $1.50) at the time of the tour.

4:00pm to 9:00pm in the Hotel

The program will consist of plenary speakers, breakout sessions, and an informal networking reception. The goals are to: 1) build intellectual community among the next generation of Law and Society scholars; 2) foster collegial networks among graduate students and leading faculty in the field; 3) promote dialogue about student research; and 4) enhance professional development around research, publishing, and career paths in socio-legal studies. Any graduate student attending the meeting is welcome to attend the workshop by registering for it along with their conference registration.
