Logo Contest
2017 International Meeting on Law and Society
in Mexico City

Background

Mexico, D.F. will be the host of the 2017 Joint Annual Meeting of the Law and Society Association (LSA) and the Research Committee on Sociology of Law (RCSL) of the International Sociological Association (ISA). The conference is also co-sponsored by the Socio-Legal Studies Association, the Japanese Association of the Sociology of Law, and the Canadian Law and Society Association.  This will be the first time a Joint Meeting is held in a Latin American country, so it will have special significance for the expansion of Law and Society studies across national and regional boundaries, and the strengthening of scholarly collaborations among individuals from different disciplines and from all over the world.  Mexico, D.F. will be a unique place to hold this international meeting because of its historical, cultural, political and economic importance to the Americas, the Caribbean basin, and the rest of the world.

Given this momentous occasion, the Program Committee of the 2017 Joint Annual Meeting is pleased to announce a competition to design a logo that represents the conference to be held in June 20-23, 2017, at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel & Towers in Mexico D.F., Mexico.
